Kaduna restores Electricity after 5 days of blackout

The Kaduna Electric Distribution Company has brought power back to its franchise area in the states of Kaduna, Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kebbi following many days of power outages. At a meeting held at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on Friday, the Kaduna State administration, the two internal labour unions, and the management of the Kaduna Electric Distribution Company decided to restore electricity right away.

According to a statement released following the meeting, the parties had decided to examine previous exchanges and cooperate in order to reach a mutually agreeable resolution. According to a source, Governor Uba Sani served as a guarantee and pledged to treat all parties fairly. The management of Kaduna Electric, under the leadership of Dr. Umar Abubakar Hashidu, was also commended by the unions for their leadership, and he thanked them for their understanding. After the resolution was signed by representatives of Kaduna Electric, the National Union of Electricity Employees, and the Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies, electricity was restored on Saturday evening.
