FG has advised Nigerians in Lebanon to leave the country

Israel is becoming more aggressive, hence FG requests that Nigerians leave Lebanon. While commercial flights are still operating, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, or NIDCOM, has recommended its residents living in Lebanon to depart the nation. Israel announced that it has started an invasion in southern Lebanon following two weeks of attacks, coinciding with NIDCOM’s advice.

More than 1,000 people have reportedly died as a result of the attacks, according to Lebanese police, and up to a million have been forced to escape their homes.

The operation was described as “limited, localised, and targeted ground raids” by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) against the military organisation Hezbollah, which is supported by Iran. However, NIDCOM stated in a statement that the attacks were concerning. “We hereby advise them to keep safe until the ceasefire is in place,” the statement said.

“NIDCOM also noted that no accident or injury to citizens in the Middle Eastern country have been recorded.” According to President Bola Tinubu, “Nigerians are equally advised to liaise with our Embassy in Lebanon for necessary guidance regarding their safety.” He also expressed concern for their well-being.
